Stanford Music Chances

<p>I would like to major in Music at Stanford for undergraduate with hopes of medical school as a graduate. I will apply as early decision. What are my chances?</p>

<p>Very challenging school (ranked 60th or something in the nation)
1st generation to go to college in the US
Academic Weighted GPA: 3.85
APs: Biology E (11), Economics (12), Calculuc B/C (12)
Honors: French 4 (11), Pre-Calculus (11), Chemistry (10)
SAT: 2030 ; 580 CR, 760 Math, 690 Writing (retaking this October, aiming for 2200+)
SAT Subject: Biology 750, Math II: 770</p>

<p>Extra Cirriculars:</p>

<p>200 hours community service through clubs and volunteering
National Honor Society (2 years)
Vice-President of Rock Fusion Club
Member of Clubs: Octagon (1 year), High School For A Better Community (1 year), California Scholoarship Federation (1 year), NHS (2 years)
Junior Varsity Cross Country (1 year)
Paid Guitar Tutor, 2 years
Self-taught guitar player, 5 years
Piano, 4 years (before high school, forgot most of it)
Speech and Debate, 1 year
Drama, 1 year</p>

<p>Your sat and gpa are low. Stanford is a definite reach.</p>

<p>Gotta agree that your SATs and GPA are low for stanford, but im not really sure about music major. Your ECs dont look spectacular so im jsut gonna say its a reach 4 you.</p>

<li><p>Stanford only has EA, not ED.</p></li>
<li><p>Raise your standarized test scores/GPA</p></li>
<li><p>ECs are pretty weak</p></li>
<li><p>For a potential music major, you don’t seem to have many music ECs…Just jammin’ with some friends on your guitar won’t impress Stanford.</p></li>
