<p>im hoping to major in music for stanford, and im goina live audition in january..just wonderin, if i have a really good audition, it would raise my chances right? cuz my stats are quite average compared to other people. just wanted to know if stanford's music is tough or something. cuz what im actually planning to do is get in with music and then double-major or something with something else i like.</p>
<p>I adutitioned and got in with a 1400 SAT, but there's no way to tell if it made the difference. Just go for it.</p>
<p>You actually don't audition for the music program. Stanford accepts you to Stanford itself. I'm assuming the audition/CD might help, otherwise they wouldn't have it as an option!</p>

stanford accepts all undergraduates as open majors , so whatever you "mark" as your "major" doesn't matter</p>
