Well, the other threads have these up, so I thought we might too. Also, apparently Quest Bridge people find out this Friday. Good luck everybody!!

Here's the official formatting I found off previous threads... just remove the spaces before you post.

Please use the following format. REMEMBER TO REMOVE ALL SPACES BETWEEN THE BRACKETS (ex. The space should be deleted between the bracket and s in [ size=+2], etc.) ALSO REMEMBER TO REMOVE ALL SPACE BETWEEN [ *]

Questbridge finalists find out Nov 30, this Friday.

QB kids applied on Sept 30 for finalist status. Results were released for finalist status on Oct 26, in time for kids to send in their Nov 1 SCEA applications.

SCEA kids apply SCEA
QB finalists who submitted their apps apply National College Match

And National College Match offers are made on November 30, this Friday. So there may be kids who have gotten in come Friday.

QB is a program tailored to benefit low-income students or students who went through rough experiences.

Oh. Are the QB kids from all different schools or are they from a QB school? I'm not sure I understand the program. Also, Do you know the percentage of kids who get in through QB vs regular SCEA? Just curious.

It's a scholarship program. The kids who become finalists are called Questbridge students. Finalists can apply to the National College Match. Last year I think there were 103 Match students. 9 out of 103 kids got into Stanford through the Match Program, but the other 94 may or may not have listed Stanford in their choices anyway.

But what you want is the Finalist status. It seems that most finalists (around 1500 last year) get into their top choice. There aren't any statistics released about acceptance numbers as far as I know, so I can't tell you how many Finalists got into Stanford. QB is for kids from all around the country with SERIOUS financial need. And, the financial stuff is what ultimately determines your finalist status--it's not as dependent upon your achievements as on your family's Gross Income.

Thanks for the reply. That's good that there is a program out there to help those in serious financial need. Everyone has the right to a great education and kids shouldn't be penalized because they grew up poor. Good luck to them.

So far, I haven't heard of anyone who was accepted under QuestBridge.

This super smart guy at our school (4.0UW GPA, 2360 SAT) was rejected under QuestBridge. He has many ECs too! Quite scary, and I'm getting worried about my chances, since they're low enough already.

dont worry too much about the questbridge guy; i worked at the admissions office for questbridge applicants...they want diversity NOT stats..that is the basic trend i saw. also SAT scores varied.

Bump, and also wanted to say that I'm filling out the stats/decision format now and saving it in word. I know that once I find out I will be either too ecstatic or too depressed to fill it all out, so this way I can just copy/paste.

so question.... what exactly does "mid-december" mean lolz?
and is it just mail or do we find out online too?
..and why don't i know the answers to these questions haha.
