Stanford OHS Part-Time

I'm intrigued by the course offerings of the Stanford Online High School. To what extent would a part-time course load for one year (three courses) along with my normal work at school affect my admissions to Stanford and elsewhere, provided I do well.

How difficult and intense would it be if I do participate as a part time student?

Bump. Any suggestions? Would this look good and help my GPA/course rigor?

Stanford OHS is extremely rigorous. It is more difficult than you might think to do well. Stanford University also does not give any special recognition to students of the OHS, they look at your application holistically. The OHS has had quite a few graduates accepted into Stanford who are now attending and they have also had quite a few graduates who were not accepted to Stanford who are now attending other colleges. The OHS would certainly help your course rigor but it would be more likely to hurt your GPA then help it since the courses are so difficult that it is hard to get a high grade. Three courses could be rather difficult and time consuming depending on what courses you choose. The OHS is a very good choice for some students but you have to be prepared to do a lot of intense, independent work. The core courses (philosophy) are by far the most difficult of the courses offered and are generally required of all students as far as I know.
