Stanford or bust. chances?

Ok, heres the deal. Im looking at alot of normal colleges like penn state and auburn and stuff like that, but i really really like standford. And im wondering if i have any chance whatsoever to make it in, so maybe you guys could give me your opinion.

Age: 16
grade: junior
GPA as of now: 3.4 (ouch i know, i slacked off bad early on)
GPA that ill have before i apply: 3.75 to 3.8 (im working my butt off)
SAT scores- n/a havnt taken em yet, but judging by the psat they should be pretty good

extra curriculars:
-level 9 out of 10 gymnast, won 1st place titles in state and a 3rd place title in region
-boy scout with the rank of life, will be eagle by the time i apply
-school pole vault team

Awards:
-1st place in the atlanta science fiction society writing contest

Thats pretty much it for now but im a long way away from applying. Im hoping that They'll look at my progression of grades and such. I went from a 2.75 my first freshman semester, and as of now im sitting at a 4.0. I havnt had perfect grades throughout my high school career, but Ive learned from my mistakes and my grades are perfect now.

Im a very strong writer (im not trying to be arrogant there, i swear. I have trouble in just about every other subject, its just my strong point) and I know that I can make a compelling essay.

so with that all factored in, what do you think?

bump

come on, 24 views and no comments? any opinions at all? Please?

You have pretty good credentials besides your GPA, which might really hurt you. Worth a shot, I'd say, but Stanford is probably a reach for you.

slight chance. don't thjjink stanford or bust.

what about your Community Service???

I have never heard of standford.

lol uvajoe...
it's your junior year. keep working, upward grade trends are good, and don't worry too much. apply ea if you still love it there and see what happens.
