Stanford or Dartmouth

Hi, I am 100% native american and currently am a junior in high school. I havea GPA of 3.67 unweighted.my school offers only ten AP classes and nine honors classes and I have taken eight of the ten and eight of the nine. As for extra curricular events, I am the president of big brothers, big sisters, president and founder of future teachers club and four clovers club and president (two years running) of my tribes youth council group. I also am in band and I play the bassoon, tube, trombone, clarinet, saxophone, flute, and trumpet. I am the grandfather bassoonist because there was no bassoonist before me in my school and the community. I help with the cumminty in any way I can and I am the youngest memeber of my tribal council and am the Secretary. I am also a first year college student and neither of NY parents graduated high school and out of seven siblings, I will be the only graduating because one dropped out, two are several credits behind and the others don’t want to go to high school.

I also have presentations to fellow tribal memebers. During this presentation, I tell them the fun stuff about colleges. I give them the addmissions rate, I tell them the chances they could have, the doers that will open if they do go and what they can do to get in. I always have freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors coming to me to ask questions. My tribe is also a huge supporter of education, but no one is taking advantage of it. We literally get a full ride, 100%, free! Paid trip to go to college. Not only that, we get paid for graduating and for living. After calculations, I’ve found that they first year of college, there will be about $500,000 in our wallets. Unfortunately, most of the natives in my tribe spend it on drugs or the casino. Speaking of drugs, I’ve created a mission on preventing drug use and promoting education by having fun runs, cooking classes, music lessons, and math preparations for the future.

Back to school, I am currently in Band, AP US history, SAT prep, AP Physics, Honors Pre Calc, and AP English 11. Next year, I will be taking Band, AP Calculus AB, AP Chemistry, Honors Anatomy and Physiology, AP Gov/Econ, AP Psychology (Online and during lunch) and AP English 12.

I would really want to apply to all th he ivy leayges and Stanford, but just wanted your opinions. I don’t have to pay for college applications, because my tribe pays for it. My top choices were Stanford and Dartmouth but I really want to see snow in my life, so I’m leaning towards Dartmouth. Thanks

Your story is quite compelling. If you have decent test scores, then you have a reasonable shot at every single Ivy league school. Have you taken the PSAT? If so what did you score?

Best of luck

I did not take the psat but I did take the SAT and got a mere 2000. I am retaking it in May.
