True. Those schools, along with Middlebury and Bowdoin, are the US News top seven LACs. Davidson and Carleton are merely … eighth. In case the OP is still interested, though, here are a couple of articles (not too dated I hope) about Davidson’s pre-med program:

I think it depends what atmosphere you want. My daughter, who I believe can get accepted anywhere she wanted, visited Stanford and chose not to apply. She visited Davidson and loved it along with the other LACs Swat, Williams, Wesleyen, and Haverford. She was accepted to all and has a tough decision between all of those. I think it’s entirely reasonable to love the intimacy of a small LAC over a larger research institution. Believe me, Davidson academics are very tough and grade inflation is not a problem.

^^^True and much too presumptuous on my part and probably not true. I guess my point is that someone may choose a good LAC such as Davidson as HYPS.

I think the atmosphere at Davidson is more conducive to student-athletes, whereas the totally subjective vibe I get from Stanford is that there are students, and then there are athletes. Something to thing about.

I know someone that was a recruited athlete to Davidson and Stanford (as well as Big East Schools and the IVYs.)

He ended up picking Davidson and loved every moment of it.

The small campus allowed him to do a lot networking and make a great deal of connections. Everyone at that school has selected it over other well known “name” schools. It is not like you would be picking a poor performing school and chances are you will find more success athletically which will make it more fun.
