stanford pre-collegiate

My D just got accpeted in stanford pre-collegiate summer prog for Bussiness. I was just wondering if anyone knows how selective they are or what is there acceptance rate?

My D just got accepted in the International Relations session as well. It is hard to say much about this program. Here is what I have been able to find out

  1. It will be a great experience, no doubt. Especially if the cost ($6500) is not an issue
  2. Impossible to tell how selective these courses are - Yale YGS says 25% acceptance on their web site. Stanford does say anything. Neither does Harvard - but one of their counselors told me about half the kids get admitted to the Harvard secondary school program (2 weeks for $4000)
  3. From an admissions perspective, if this can lead to a letter of recommendation or a substantial essay component - it may help. There seems to be no direct correlation with admission stats (in top universities)

No good data out there - except everyone who took it seems to have enjoyed it

Thanks. I spoke to Stanford yesterday and they said that for business program only 15-20 kids per class are selected. And in total for all their courses in summer institute, they get few thousand applications from all over the world. So for business program, I assume acceptance rate must be around 25℅…As they have 4 campuses and 2 session and only 2 course to offer. So around 150 kids total.
