So I'm pretty conflicted. Stanford is at my top choice, but I also have several other colleges in mind (MIT, Caltech)

I have 2 options of apply.

Stanford REA, and the other colleges RD. REA=higher rates, there's also a chance I get deferred and re-evaluated for the RD round.

Stanford through Questbridge. If I don't become matched, I get to apply Early Action to MIT, CIT, UChicago, and other early action schools, just not Stanford REA. But my application is forwarded to Stanford RD round. The chances of my acceptance through Questbridge is really low, however.

Please help! Thanks.

What are your credentials…GPA, test scores, any notable/extraordinary ECs?, awards?, home state, ethnic background?, parents’ income, etc…
…I’m assuming you are interested in some type of STEM since you are looking at MIT and Caltech as well…

I sent you a message.

Honestly, in my opinion, while I think REA does help, RD isn’t impossible. Most people still get in through RD… like me. I think Stanford, (unlike Harvard lol), recognizes that a good portion of great students will apply RD, and admits relatively less students early. It’s not like you have no chance if you apply RD.

Yeah, after all this thinking and asking around, I’m still pretty stuck. I mean it just comes down to QB+RD (EA with other schools) or REA(and perhaps RD if I get deferred).

**For those (who are highly qualified) debating whether they should do REA or not should NOT ASSUME that Stanford will keep to their recent past REA acceptance numbers the SAME…after reviewing what their desperate academic competitor(s) are doing back east in their early round…they MAY change/adjust/tweak how many MORE to admit in the EARLY ROUND to reward those who truly have Stanford as their number one choice…

…nothing stays the same in the college admissions arms race…Stanford will remain dynamic/fluid in what they plan to do…**

Applying RD, thanks guys!
