Today I got an email (through college board) saying that Stanford is requesting more financial information like my W-2 and stuff. I called and they said that this doesn’t happen to every applicant they are asking individually. Does this mean anything? Or does it just mean that I haven’t been rejected yet?
Relax. Breathe. It means exactly what it appears to be…they need your required tax forms to figure out the financial aid …they need this for all applicants who have applied for aid (regardless of whether you are rejected or accepted)…they need to have the package ready to go once the decisions are released. Calculating the financial aid packages for each of the potential thousands of applicants takes time. Nothing more nothing less.
Many students will be receiving questions about needing this or needing that in the next week or so…whether it be scores, transcripts missing, recommendations missing, tax forms missing, etc…
…it’s all part of the process. Enjoy the ride
