Today I got an email (through college board) saying that Stanford is requesting more financial information like my W-2 and stuff. I called and they said that this doesn’t happen to every applicant they are asking individually. Does this mean anything? Or does it just mean that I haven’t been rejected yet?
Stanford is need blind, which almost always means that the admissions and financial aid organizations are entirely separated and that wealth/poverty is NOT a direct part of acceptance decisions. I doubt if the FA staff has any idea who will be admitted, denied, or wait-listed on roughly 31 March.
@TopTier–for US citizens & green card holders, you are correct. [url=http://admission.stanford.edu/application/international/]But not for internationals/url:
@marvin100 (re #2): In several prior threads, principally concerning California public universities, the OP self-identified as an OOS, not an international, applicant. Therefore, my response in post #1 was reasonably premised this information.
Cool, thanks, @TopTier. I didn’t go back and check on the OP. Anyway, the info I posted might be useful for others.
@marvin100: Absolutely correct.
