Have had a summer job 2 years, worked in 2 springs as an umpire until sports didnt allow me to anymore, work with an organization that helps disabled children play baseball for 4 years-- a lot of my supplements will include this and briefly mentioned in my common app essay and its had a big imprint on me that I am trying to convey in my essays.

I’m a member of a few clubs, but no real leadership positions and often i cannot make meetings for that as i have sports that just conflict too much being 20 hours a week.

Member of NHS and foreign national honor society for spanish

My common app essay was about a condition that I was born with that occurs in 1 in 18,000 kids and how its really changed my outlook on life and a lot of things— i had to make sure that it didn’t sound like a sob story, because it wasn’t at all just a real life changing thing for me as i got older (i think that could be something really interesting)

Recommendation letters: two from my teachers and one from counsellor

Any advice? Thank you a lot!

@jtg: 40%, are you good enough to be recruited for tennis? You seem like an interesting applicant with depth to your extracurriculars. 35-40% chance of admission

@duke412: You’re in at UVA, Mich, Binghamton, Lehigh, and probably Vandy.
You’re a strong applicant for Northwestern, Cornell, Duke, and Penn. Penn is your biggest reach, I’d give you 65-70% for Duke and we’d be surprised if you got outright rejected, at worst deferred.

@Wengkls: You’re an outstanding student, however the international applicant pool is really difficult to predict. Just keep pursuing your passions, I’d give you above-average chances for an international but it’s hard to tell. 13% largely due to being Chinese international

Hope this helped guys! We chance for STANFORD just a reminder

My essays are pretty good. Still polishing them. Have an interesting story and have showed a quirky character. My intellectual vitality essay is pretty unique but fun, my what matters essay is impactful (I hope), and my roommate essay is quirky and fun.

What percent chance would you say I have? Remember that I am applying early.
Thank you so much!

@cmon: You’re definitely a solid applicant, all of your empirical stats are solid so it will come down to two things; how you craft a story through your essays and application structure, and what the admissions office is looking for in a freshman class this year. If you fit the bill, you’d do great here. I’d give you 20-25% chance (which remember is almost 5 times the normal acceptance rate) . Best of luck!

@Jonah: Eskimos (most likely) don’t live in Arkansas and you probably didn’t cure cancer, but trust me when I say we have a kid that’s working on it. Please be serious here, thanks!
