Stanford SAT regulations!

I'm still have take two more SAT before applying,
but on their website, it says that the last acceptable
SAT test date is this Oct. i also need the nov
one for SAT II. I plan on appying ED;
Is it possible to still rush in scores???

any advice will be great--thanks!

[FAQ : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/site/faq/index.html#faq_2_1)

read question 4.

its recommended, meaning we should try our best to take it, if not then I remember reading somewhere else on the site that said word for word “you wont be in disadvantage with other applicants if you dont have them”

hope this helped.

there is no ED at Stanford

you should not apply SCEA, unless your app is as strong as it can get by the SCEA deadline.

I agree with nngmm. Although they say it won’t affect you negatively if you don’t have SAT II’s, I think it does put you at somewhat of a disadvantage. Why? Precisely for the reason that almost everyone else who applies SCEA will have them.

But no worries, I’m in the same boat. I suppose I should’ve used the June SAT date to do II’s, but it’s too late now…sigh.

Oh, and a representative from Stanford came to my city with the Exploring College Options tour (with Harvard, Georgetown, Duke, and UPenn); I asked him the same question. He responded that after the November deadline, your application file is closed so it’s very rare, if not impossible that your scores will be included in your file.

aaahhh so i’m basically doomed??!
but hey there’s still the deferred right? which means
they’ll still look at your mid-year reports and all that.
Surely they’ll look at the scores then!
Soo what can you do to have them look at the rushed scores?
It’s only a few days after the deadline!

you can’t make them do anything. If you are deferred, they will see your mid-year grades. But Stanford rejects over 50% of SCEA applicants, so don’t count on being deferred.

I don’t think Stanford gives SCEA applicants special treatment. In fact, at our school, the GCs have advised kids against submitting SCEA to Stanford, but yes to Yale. So don’t consider yourself screwed. Consider yourself lucky that you didn’t.

Thanks for all of your advices–really helpful!
I’ve been looking at yale, and their acceptance
rate is even lower than that of Stanford’s…!

blissfulting: yea the convention thing is coming to
my town this sept 15, and I’ll be sure to ask anyway.
Are applying there still, or are you going somewhere
else to up your chances?

^ I’m still applying to Stanford, but not SCEA because of the score deadline thing. I’m trying to decide on Yale EA - their last SAT date is November for EA (whereas it’s October for Stanford’s SCEA).
