I'm an Asian male from California. Great, haha.

I GREATLY APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT!

Everything looks good, but since you’re Asian, that will hurt you. Are you applying REA or RD?

I’m looking at applying REA, SCS.

Have you already submitted your app? If not, I suggest you apply RD it is much easier because during REA many spots go to athletes, and URM’s.

STOP recommending this and that, StanfordCS. Before I read your post, I knew it was gonna be something about “I think you should apply RD”

And RD is NOT much easier. It’s the same (at most a weeeee bit easier, but by like .000001%)

OP, apply REA (SCEA) for Stanford if it’s your 1st choice. Don’t waste the REA otherwise.

All in all, you have as good as a chance as other applicants (if not better)

hahah. agreed ^

For a school like Stanford, I’d take the extra .000001%.

I don’t understand how REA can be worse than RD. They know you will come there if accepted, and you don’t have a higher chance of getting in? Why?

During REA they accept athletes and URM’s. Last year, a kid from my school was a football player recruited by Stanford, he had an SAT of 1530 (CR+M+W), GPA of 2.97 and only ONE EC which was football. He GOT IN REA!! So, it shows many spots are reserved for Stanford’s football team, while on CC I saw 2400 SAT applicants rejected. That’s why I suggest many people to apply RD instead of REA. Also, Stanford knows this year they’re losing Andrew Luck, and they have to keep their football team competitive in the Pac-12 so they will be accepting less academically qualified applicants but stellar athletes which generally happens during REA. That’s why I’m waiting till RD.

Good for you.

I’m a stellar athlete. :D

It looks like someone doesn’t want anyone else to apply early action
