Which school would be better to apply early action in terms of acceptance rates in comparison to regular decision?

Neither. You won’t gain much of an advantage in terms of acceptance chances from applying EA to either school. The EA pool is quite self-selective which sometimes gives the false illusion that EA is intrinsically an easier round.

In that sense, they’d both be the same. Pick whichever school you enjoy the most.

Yeah, there really is no advantage to applying to a school earlier. The acceptance rate might be higher, but the SCEA applicants are generally stronger applicants, so you’ll be competing with the best of the best of the best.

Whichever school best fits you and most importantly, which application you think has the most room and best opportunity to develop yourself as a person (obvious leanings towards Stanford app here).

I second what l337toast said. I found that Stanford’s app conveyed my interests and my talents far better than Yale’s. Plus, I was able to “reuse” the Intellectual Vitality and Roommate essays I had written in October in other applications come December.

It’s just based on how you assess your personal chances and your personal preferences. I personally applied to Stanford SCEA over Yale because no one ever gets into Yale from our school, whereas we’ve had quite a few Stanfords historically (I know it’s a crappy reason, but it sufficed for me).

Ahhhh, this is too tricky :(
