I know that Stanford opts out of score choice which allows you to only send in your best scores. My question is though, do they require you to send in all SAT scores you've ever taken, or just all scores for the subjects you're sending in?
For example, I would hope to send in Math, Chemistry, and US History. I retook Chemistry when I got a 700 and then got 770, so I know they'll see both of those scores. But I also just took a French SAT, somewhat on a whim, because I like French, and I think I did poorly unless there is a very generous curve. The only reason I'm not cancelling it is because I'm positive I aced Math, which I took on the same day. So when I apply to Stanford, do I have to send in scores even in subjects I don't plan to submit on the app?

Stanford allows Score Choice for SAT Subject Tests, since they are not a required part of the application. (Here’s a direct quote from the Admissions Website: “Applicants may also selectively submit whatever SAT Subject Test scores they choose, as those scores are not required for admission.”) So it’s A-Okay to omit the French SAT score.

Unless a score is incredibly bad (sub 650ish), send it. “Bad” scores won’t count against you.

Alright, thank you. I read somewhere that Stanford didn’t have score choice but I guess that means only for the regular SAT? which is good since I only took once and got above 2300.
Since I didn’t want to start another thread, I have another related question
I got into a very competitive research internship at Stanford and will be working full time over the summer with a professor one on one on some very advanced project and attending lectures.
If I combined that with some passionate essays extrapolating on my experiences working on projects at Stanford and applied early, maybe even with a rec letter from the professor, would that help boost my chances which would be pretty low otherwise?

Something like that would definitely boost your chances. In no way does it guarantee admission of course…I know people who got in early to Stanford with a wonderful rec from a professor, actually a head of dept…of course, they were pretty great to begin with, but they felt that the rec really did it. I also know some people who did research at Stanford and still didn’t get in. Point is, make sure to make an impression on the professor you’re working with. Anything to make you stand out will help.

Also, I sent ALL my subject test scores and still got in this year…I didn’t know about the score choice for the subject tests. I had a 90 point improvement in SAT Lit, and I think it showed my persistance and hard work in trying to get a good score.
