Stanford students, how do you find your school facilities?

Now that you've finally enrolled in UMich, what can you say about its facilities?

labs

class rooms

libraries

computer rooms

dorms

campus environment/landscape

im going to guess that very few people posting in the Stanford forum have enrolled in UMich.

labs - havent been in one

class rooms - they vary widely. the chairs are comfortable throughout though…

libraries - havent been in any of the big ones i just go to a smaller one close to my dorm. it’s a library. nothing amazing. just a quiet place to work.

computer rooms - lots of up to date macs and pcs. the computer cluster in my dorm just got a 30 inch mac screen or smth to run your computer on or presentations on or w/e we want to use it for.

dorms - dorms vary widely. most people love their dorms. i love mine. i have one of the biggest/most private rooms available to freshman (2 room double). the bathrooms get kind of disgusting though when people dont wipe up after themselves…i miss my private bathroom =[

dining halls - generally good food. some days excellent food. some days they serve quirky stuff that only certain people would like I suppose.

campus environment/landscape - best in the world imo.

labs–top-notch.

mostly awesome; some class rooms are smaller and cramped, some have crappy desktops (in the stadium seating-style rooms), etc. but for the most part, the class rooms are awesome, generally with projectors, whiteboards, nice desks, comfortable chairs, etc.

amazing–well-kept, varied

awesome as well–all computers are kept up-to-date (daily updates) and also all the computers are new/recent, for every computer cluster on campus that I’ve been to (a lot)

it depends on which dorm you’re talking about–most are really great (well-kept, with a kitchen, computer cluster, conference room, etc.)

beautiful–enough said.

bigMIKE, sorry about that. Was meant to be Stanford, of course. Was posting the same thing on UMich thread, had lost sight when I copied and pasted on here. My apologies…

anyhow, the responses of the posters are very interesting…

I see.

Well stanford is probably one of the top couple prettiest universities in the US. so I wouldn’t worry about the campus and such.

labs- haven’t been in one yet

class rooms- I’ll reiterate the comfy chairs thing. Very comfy. I used to have back issues in high school classrooms, but no more!

libraries- only went once but it looked nice

computer rooms- seem pretty solid. I think they have a lot of those expensive apps.

dorms- compared to other schools I was visiting, Stanford dorms are larger and newer. Lounges with pianos and recreational games (foosball, ping-pong, pool, or all three)

campus environment/landscape- really amazing. It’s pretty sweet riding through campus, especially downhill (there is a noticeable incline going from the oval to “lake” lag).
