Hi, I just recently got into the program (16-17). I have a few questions hopefully someone could answer.
1. They accept 400 or so kids, how many apply? Is it easy to get into or more on the difficult end?
2. Does the environment supports a fun and active social scene?
3. Does this help me get into Stanford? Would it help with other universities?
4. Are there sports to play? How competitive? How often?
5. Anyone else going (2011)?

Contact Stanford. It varies by year, of course; we can’t read minds.

There’s a glaring grammatical error here. Ignoring that, the answer is any program can be social if YOU make it social. If you don’t socialize … it’s not social.

Probably not that much. It’ll be a factor, but doesn’t guarantee anything. Remember that most of these college credit summer programs are, “you pay, you go”. They’re not extremely selective, but that’s not to say everyone will get in.

Contact Stanford. If you read this, however, it names “participating in intramural sports tournaments” as an activity, and also states, “Summer students also have full access to swimming pools, tennis courts, handball and squash courts, a fully equipped gymnasium, basketball and sand volleyball courts, a golf course and other facilities devoted to track and field, softball, soccer and field hockey”.

Not I. Pricey, run-of-the-mill. I would prefer Stanford’s EPGY program, SUMaC or something similar.

Almost everyone who applies get in, assuming they can pay the tuition.

Definitely.

Not really.

There’s a ton of sports you and your fellow campers can play. I would say… every night?

Can’t really answer that question haha.

i think im going
