Hey everybody, I'm a junior from NYC and I want to apply to the Stanford program. My stats aren't too great, at least to Stanford's level, but I was wondering if the summer program is as selective.

Stats:
GPA: 3.58 (Didn't do too well freshmen year, but got around a 3.88 for sophomore and I have a 3.8 for junior so far)

SAT: 2160

EC's:
Competitive Cyclist
Head and founder of a cycling club at my school; we ride on weekends and participate in communal rides that NYC sets up
Tutor in Spanish and Latin
Editor of School literary magazine
I also teach some kids how to skateboard

Has anybody else gone/is going to apply? What were your scores like?

Wrong forum, but…

If you’re talking about the Stanford Summer Institutes (formerly known as Stanford EPGY), you should definitely get in. It’s one of those pay-to-get-in programs. As long as you’re not failing your classes and can afford the $6000 you’ll be accepted.

if your doign this to look good at colleges. dont. colleges dont care about pay summer camps; they are just meant for rich people to buffer their resume.

****, I’m new here. Thanks. I think that’s a different program though; there’s the High school institutes program and then the summer college program where you take classes with undergrads. Not sure.

Sorry, disregard what I said, then. The Stanford Summer Institutes program is different from the one where you take college courses. Don’t know much about the college course program, sorry.

Try looking at this thread. I think this is the college course one. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/summer-programs/460566-summer-stanford-university-high-school-college-summer-programs.html
