Stanford tranfer forum

Okay, so Stanford is better than half the ivies, and yet it is still not an ivy, so I thought I should start a forum for all stanford transfer applicants. It is scary-- there is approximately a 3.86% chance of getting in (50 out of 1300), and I am scared as hell. So, I thought we should share each other's pain. Why do you want to go to Stanford? Did you like your essays? Anything you wish you could've changed? Just a place to share your thoughts

For me, I regret putting math major when in reality I am a biochemistry and economics major. I am a freshman, and my high school record was really strong, but my college records left something to be desired. I think I did a really good job with the essays, but I don't know what they are looking for, and I thought I had excellent essays the first time I applied, so I am really scared. Finally, I am a writing consultant yet I got a 630 on my writing section--not sure how that is going to reflect

What are your thougths about your application??

Well Im not in the position to transfer to Stanford yet as I am just entering college. If I can get a strong GPA (3.9-4.0) and some good EC's then I definitely plan to apply. I would have to apply after my 2nd year most likely due to the fact that my high school was not stellar. I am hoping that since I would be applying after my 2nd year that they wouldnt put too much emphasis on my high school record. In any case it would be a looooooooooooooooooooong shot. I will most likely end up at UCLA or UCB when I transfer, but I'd be lying if I said Stanford wasn't my ultimate dream school. I had the pleasure of visiting the campus once, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. If i am never there as an undergrad, I am hoping to end up there for grad school. Anyways, I wish you good luck as it seems like you really deserve to go there.
