<p>I’m going to vent now, so please don’t ban me, but f<strong>k Stanford, f</strong>k Columbia, f<strong>k NYU-Stern and f</strong>k UVA-McIntire. I guess that a 4.0 doesn’t do it for you, does it? I guess that an active extracurricular life characterized by leadership doesn’t do it for you either, does it? I’ve worked at a renowned corporation nearly full-time for more than a year and a half, and I’ve quickly grown into a leader at work, too. Nonetheless, my work experience seems inadequate for you as well. Do you care that - amidst this crazy life of mine - I contribute to the less fortunate in my community? What about the weeks that I spent writing ridiculous essays and reading them to everyone that I know? Did my recommendations blow? You know what Stanford, Columbia, NYU and UVA? Screw you.</p>

It’s really great (okay, not THAT great) to get this off of me. My dad was opposed to Stanford some weird reason (probably the tuition), etc…I would have loved to attend there, though. Well, everything happens for a reason

<p>I guess you’re right, but the schools that I applied to would have opened some unique opportunities in terms of networking and in terms of recruitment for coveted jobs in a dwindling market. Whatever.</p>

I have yet to hear from any other private college (got rejected from Wellesley-kind of relieived, and Stanford- kind of expected), but I don’t care because I’m going to Cal. :P</p>
