Stanford Transfer Applicants 2009

I really don’t know why we are arguing about this…it is up to the admissions office to decide if an applicant’s TOTAL package (not just perfect stats) whether he or she will add significantly to the campus. I am simply saying different experiences can make a campus more diverse. If you have a 4.0/2400 and the admissions office deemed you will contribute to the campus, then all the better. But a person with no so great gpa/test scores can make up for it with their experiences.

I don’t believe any student who applies to Stanford is a “generic robot”. Everyone has their own talent. It is up to the admission office to decide whether they want that person or not. I am assuming it must be a really hard job. All we can do is to present our best and hope for the best.

Hi, I have a question :

I’m going to apply to a french college. After my freshmen year, I plan to leave on a road trip during one year, through Asia and / or Africa.

I wanted to know if i could apply to Stanford as a transfer student during this time ?

I know that during my first year, i’ll have classes in econ, law, history, business, geography, political sciences, sociology, languages (for me, English + Spanish, and maybe a third language (an asian one) if my grades are good) and, if i choose the programm, in biology, physics, mathematics.

Will this courses allow me to apply as a transfer student, or will i have to apply as a freshman student, because of the differences beetwen french and u.s colleges ?

Last question, but very important : after my road trip, i’ll be 20 (so 19 during the application process), is it too old to apply ?

Bye

wait did everyone with a successful ID login get in?

and overall, how many from CC got in?

“life’s not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain”

OCC, take your own advice. Do not assume that I am “resentful”; this has nothing to do with it. Don’t assume that you know me or understand why I am saying what I am saying. I personally do not feel like listing exactly why; it is from personal experiences; I am very familiar with what I am talking about. Also, I am not bitter whatsoever about not being accepted. Infact, I have had this opinion long before I applied to stanford. And loveyouu, same thing, don’t act like I have no humanity by telling me to “find the real person”.

DO you guys really not believe that their system may be flawed (in terms of finding the people that would be the best for their school)?

“Surprise, you don’t have all the answers.” OCC, that is a pretty smug comment to make… who does?

hey guys, I’ve been rejected. Congratulations to all who got in and to the rest of us, life goes on.

I am very sorry lion.

The waiting continues for me as I was placed on the waiting list. Is anyone else on here on the waiting list as well? I would be honored to attend Stanford. It has and will always be my ultimate goal. For now, I keep waiting.

Lion so sorry to hear. I was almost certain you got in. I hope it wasnt that log in thing that made you not get in.

There is a waiting list for transfers?

Ehe, I wish you all the best as you pursue the waitlist!

Madamebovary, whatever the basis of my rejection might be, I’m at peace with this decision. Perhaps it’s just the motivation I needed to push myself to greater heights. Besides, I’m already very privileged to be at Northwestern, a topnotch school.

To that lucky girl in California, have an amazing time at Stanford :)

“I still have to decide between a free ride here at Reed, and moving down to Stanford.”

I would expect Stanford to provide much better preparation at finding a job, Reed better grad school prep, so it depends on your goals.

Even though I’m on the wait list and I would love for those who are accepted to decline…

I still think you should go to Stanford over Reed! I am sure Stanford will you give AMAZING financial aid so don’t worry about it!

You have landed on a star, don’t jump off!

And yes, to the lucky girly in Cali

GO ROCK IT OUT FOR US! and after you are done, ROCK IT OUT SOME MORE!

all of you asians need to go back to asian and study at your home universities. you are taking all our spots at colleges. all you are good for are math and science. period. you will never be more than a second-rate engineer or doctor.

random…

AntebellumDixie, then I think all white people in America should go “back” to Europe and study there so that there’s room for Native Americans in the schools.

I should not have been rejected. I have perfect stats and I go to Emory (which is a top 20 school). I am tired of working my ass off, to see all these undeserving people get in.

By the way, missyujin (oh surprise surprise, you are asian), Native Americans are not a problem, because they do not disrupt our system. They stay on reservations and are generally very nice lazy people.

Well if your arrogance, self-entitlement, and intolerance came through in your application, AntebellumDixie, I’d say it’s no surprise the admissions committee didn’t want to add you to the Stanford community.

agree! i believe that you, AntebellumDixie, are not the only one who applied from top schools! and that does not guarantee acceptance at all!
