Stanford Transfer Waitlist

I didn't even know Stanford had a 'transfer' waitlist, and I was surprised when I received an email inviting me to reserve a spot on it. Does anyone have experience with this? I know that the transfer waitlist is different from the freshman one in that it depends on the number of returning sophomores and juniors, not to mention the number of transfers that accept Stanford's offer. I reserved a spot on the waitlist a few weeks ago, but I'm not sure what to write in the 600 character space; nothing has changed since my application in March. Any advice on what I may expect or what to write on the waitlist response form would be appreciated!

Anyone else on the transfer waitlist, or know anything about it?

There was a June 1st decision deadline for transfers…would think ample time has passed to determine how many they intend to take off the waitlist. I would contact them for an update

IIRC, last year, we had one person get on from the waitlist only a month before school started.

Thanks for the responses! Stanford seems to have already posted their admitted/enrolled transfer stats in their Common Data Set: 34 admitted, 31 enrolled. Does this mean that they’re trying to fill in three spots?

@fistsoffaith- I really hope it doesn’t take that long, lol.

And I guess a short email to the transfer admissions office wouldn’t hurt.

Stanford06 - I think the info in the common data set is last year’s data.

Haha, ya I think you’re right cba.

This is unbearable…

No luck. Looks like I’ll be going to an Ivy instead.
