Hello! I just realized I accidentally posted this on the 2012 instead of 2013 board, so I'm going to copy and paste it here...

Hello all! I very much regret not applying to Stanford when I was looking at colleges in high school, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the transfer system at Stanford. I understand that it is EXTREMELY selective, as in only 1.5% of transfer applicants are accepted. Are the accepted transfer students generally the most intelligent (as far as test scores and GPA go) of the bunch, or did they just have a bit of talent and luck on their side? I realize that for ANYONE applying to Stanford, you can't really look at stats and assume that they either will or will not get in to the school...

FYI, I am a second-semester college freshman with a 3.86 gpa for my first semester at a Tier 1, top 60 university. My high school class ranking and GPA are excellent, and I have very good (but not exceptional) SAT/ACT scores. I was very involved in extra-curriculars in high school, but have been only somewhat so far in college. I am also a Natl. Hispanic Scholar.

I'm not asking anyone to chance me... I guess I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me what exactly plays the biggest role in the admittance of transfer students. Thank you!
