So during the 3rd quarter of the Stanford v. Florida State Womens NCAA Tourney Game, the Stanford Tree was ejected from the sidelines due to the fact that "it" was dancing in undesignated areas...

But it gets better.

Right before that, the Stanford Tree was apparently seen giving the referees and the Florida State players "obscene gestures"...not quite sure what kind of gestures a tree could make...

OMG, is this the new tree, they just selected? I dunno if yall know, but the previous tree was fired at the end of February for supposedly being drunk at game at Cal. During the first week of March, they had a new tree selection process, and just chose the new tree. I won't put all the info here, but if you go to http://daily.stanford.edu/ and do a search for "tree", you'll see all the stories about the old tree being fired, and the new tree selection process. The new tree was announced 2 weeks ago.

i heard adam carolla on the radio doing this whole thing about the stanford tree (the drunk one) and they had someone playing the tree... i didnt hear much of it but it was hilarious

I wasn't there, but Band management sent out an e-mail telling us exactly what happened. Here's a summary:

At the end of halftime, two dollies "intentionally fell down" during the Band's rendition of Bill Tell. The Tree went a few feet on to the court to pick them up, which is a violation of event rules. Tree was removed from the game for this. Later, an ESPN camera crew found him dancing in the stadium concourse and put him on TV doing so. The NCAA didn't like this (it was "distracting from the game"--like the game was that interesting anyway), so they made him take off his costume and stand with the Band for the rest of the game.
