Your GPA is a bit on the lower side, especially for schools like Stanford. I don’t know much about College Park or Tufts to comment so I won’t.

I have to warn you, engineering at UCB is HUGE HUGE competition to get into directly. I have friends this year who had 4.0 GPA and didn’t get into engineering and is trying to get in now indirectly (not sure how though). The GPA and possibly the SAT I may be holding you back.

However, since you did say your school is REALLY competitive, UCB and Stanford may be more understanding to your lower GPA and lower class rank but don’t quote me on that.

Make sure your SAT II’s are pretty good especially for the engineering field :)

For EC’s/awards, I would say not bad, but make sure you don’t make it sound like a grocery list of just EC’s to the colleges. They want to see EC’s you’re PASSIONATE about not necessarily the ones you did for a short period of time and stopped.

WORK ON YOUR ESSAYS AND EDIT LIKE CRAZY :D

Good luck!

thankkkkkkkyouuuu and bump

I’m sorry but you class rank and your GPA (and coupled with your lower end SAT) will most likely add up to rejection at Stanford. Still give it a try, but it is HIGHLY unlikely. For Cal, what’s your UC GPA? You’re in at UMD, and you have a decent-ish shot at tufts (probably a high match). Your GPA and rank is killing you right now.
