Please chance me for:

Stanford
UPenn
UChicago
Brown
Duke
Cornell
NYU
USC
Boston University
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UC San Diego

Stanford: Reach (it is for everyone)
Chicago: High Match
Penn: High Match/Low Reach
Brown: High Match
Duke: High Match/Low Reach
Cornell: Match/High Match
Rest: Should be accepted

You didn’t mention financial aid. International financial aid plays a huge part for a number of these schools.

Financial Aid : None whatsoever

My Guess:

No:
Stanford
UChicago
Brown
Duke

Some Possibility:

UPenn
Cornell

Probably:

NYU
USC
UC Berkeley
UCLA
UC San Diego

Yes:

Boston University

I believe your chances at Penn with 1400 of 1600 will be slim.

Stanford- Reach
UPenn- Moderate
UChicago- Moderate
Brown- Moderate
Duke- Moderate
Cornell- Good Chance
NYU- Great chance unless you are applying to stern, then it’s moderate
USC-Acceptance is imminent
Boston University- Acceptance is imminent
UC Berkeley-Acceptance is imminent
UCLA- Acceptance is imminent
UC San Diego- Acceptance is imminent

Stanford is probably a reach and so are UChicago and UPenn.
Brown, Duke, Cornell and UC Berkeley (I think) are high matches.
Even though I think you have a terrific shot at getting into NYU, USC and UCLA, they are probably matches.
And I’m pretty sure you will have no issues getting into UCSD and BU.

btw, I’m also an Indian (living in India, but I’m an American citizen) with similar stats, actually (2250 in SAT I, and my SAT II scores are 800 in Math Level 2, 800 in Chemistry and 780 in Biology E) and I got rejected from Johns Hopkins University (I applied there ED). I applied for a pretty competitive major, though (Biology along with Pre-medicine) and I think you should take into account your ethnicity. Since you are an Indian, you (or rather we) are in a much more competitive pool.

@rebel, I don’t understand why 1400/1600 will kill the OP. I believe the middle 50 includes 1400. Also, OP has 800W which all the schools except Cornell see. 2200 is a competitive score.
Here’s my .02: at this point your chances are pretty good for your schools, but noe will be easy and expect rejections. However I can’t tell you which ones because admissions is so volatile. The UC’s and NYU should be in though. Your Freshman GPa MAY hurt but you are in an upward trend which helps.

I didn’t say “kill”. I did say “slim”. The reason is that the Average SAT score CR,@ Math is 1460. So being significantly below the avg score makes your chances(slim) a very high reach. If we learn anything reading the results threads anything is possible.Thats why it’s important to apply widely. My son had 10 applications ready for the day after Penn ED decisions were released. We knew his score of 1520 CR. & Math was no guarantee of admittance.

Kill or Slim, either way. No SAT is a guarantee. However the two part doesn’t make his chances slim alone. That two part will not bing down the OP’s chances alone. The 2200 is competitive. If the OP is rejected it won’t be from the score.

Not sure why you keep trying to put words in my mouth. With SAT scores below the average of admitted students, anyones chances are slim. Being an Intl. applicant and weak SAT 2 scores makes it even more difficult. For the record I didn’t say impossible.

I’m not going to argue this cause clearly we don’t see each others points. I’m simply saying that OP’s scores are not bad so it does not make the OP’s chances go down. They just won’t help them. I think the SAT Scores will not be the factor that rejects him or even hurts him dramatically.
