No. This is a common misconception that highly selective colleges care about summer camps that are held there. They really don’t.

I think if any kid gets into either they are incredibly bright and lucky. Both programs are hardcore and very selective. I know SuMAC is incredibly rigorous and is respected by math departments… unless it suddenly went downhill post-COVID. As far as math camps go, the biggies are ROSS, PROMYS, Hamshire, SuMAC, the one in Texas, and Math Camp. Math Ily is its own thing and is such an interesting place. The professor that runs it is incredibly influential in the math world. I say if you can get into these camps and you LOVE number theory… GO!
