Israeli military - 4 years

Thank you and good luck to all

external: i would like to think that berkeley can see past that small flaw. there is a much bigger picture to look at! and as for stanford, i have seen some miracles come out of each year’s set of admitted transfer students. it is for that reason that i feel you have a wonderful shot at being evaluated fairly (the way that you should have been in the first place); keep your chin up!

Dubbie your stats are pretty good buddy. Stanford, like we’re telling everyone, is a crapshoot. They have a huge focus on extracurriculars and it seems like you’re a bit thin there but your combat in the Israeli Military is quite interesting. Depending on your essays and letters of recommendation you definitely have a shot.

Good luck, dubbie81!

@ghettopony I would also hope that I would not be penalized for the prerequisite issue. Did you apply to any other schools?

external: i did but only to ucla and ucb haha.

and to dubbie: i will echo longshot (as usual) on this one. indeed it is a crapshoot, but as i’ve expressed somewhere in a former posting, i’ve seen some miraculous things and remarkable success stories come out of every year’s group of admitted transfer applicants.

at any rate, i don’t really feel qualified to assess your chances, but i do wish you the best of luck :)

I really wish I hadn’t stumbled upon this site since it’s freaking me out.

@thelongshot: What major did you get into UCLA with? I’ve been accepted as an English major.

If I am a community college student, transferring after two years, will my SAT scores from high school affect me? Unfortunately, my SAT scores were pretty low.

@ghettopony Are you also a community college student?

@external: they do look at your SAT scores but since you’ve done 2 years of CC, less emphasis is placed on the scores. Which CC are you at if you don’t mind sharing?

@dfa4ever I am currently attending Evergreen Valley College.

@external: cool. I’m at Santa Monica College. It’s so nerve wrecking waiting for these decisions. I still have Stanford’s rejection email from last year when I applied as a freshman–I think I should start rereading it just to prepare myself for the disappointment.

@external: what a coincident! I go to EVC too. Wow, I did not know that I have a competition - a strong one for that matter. I think your ECs are great man! Stanford is looking for people who are working for the betterment of their community, someone like you. I am embarrassed applying for Stanford knowing your ECs. I bet beside those great ECs you also have great letters of recommendation huh?

@phoenix20 I am glad that a student from Evergreen Valley College is here. Thank you very much for your positive remarks toward my ECs. I hope that you feel honored of your achievements and feel proud of yourself for your accomplishments. I am definitely grateful for the letters of recommendations I received from those that have confidence in me to succeed at Stanford University; it is genuinely a good feeling to have others believe in you.

external! what a coinkidink; i go to mc/wvc :P

btw, mc/wvc = mission college-west valley college

so to answer your question external, yes, i am indeed a community college student.

@dfa4ever - Philosophy/Pre-Law major into UCLA

Stanford’s transfer acceptance is about 2% maybe a little lower. It’ll be between 20-30 out of approximately 1400 this year. So I hope we all become extremely happy with our backups lol

ah, is that right? did you speak with one of the counselors again haha

Yeah actually, that seems to be the number this year. Yikes lol

yikes is right. sighh.

@ghettopony I actually visited West Valley College for a meeting; I enjoyed the atmosphere of the campus. I hope that you are enjoying your time there.

@thelongshot With around 2% of transfer applicants offering admissions, it does seem to be extremely competitive. I do wish all of you the best. I can honestly say that with all my achievements and accomplishments, I genuinely focused on the betterment of the community. Based on what I read from your accomplishments, I do respect you for starting non-profit organizations.

external: wvc definitely has a beautiful campus. i am however more of a mc student as the bulk of my classes have been taken there (and not to mention that i work there as well).

the days are numbered and i feel anything but sure at this point. i don’t know why but reading those stats really winded me. i should have been expecting it since it’s nothing different from what we’ve been seeing in the past few years. ahh. here we go again with the motions
