Stanford vs. HPME, Harvard, Yale

Hi Everyone,

Do you have any advice for selecting between Northwestern's HPME (7-year combined medical program) and Yale, Harvard, or UPenn's Vagelos?

I have no idea what to do and would appreciate any and all advice! I want to go to medical school, obviously, in the future.

Thank you so much!

Harvard. They have an almost unbeatable medical school placement rate, not to mention one of the best undergraduate programs.

Vagelos is an interesting program. It is very prestigious but doesnt necessarily put you on the straight path to medicine.
Northwestern’s program is one of the best expedited programs, but a quality medical education takes all 8 years of undergrad and grad

Definitely HPME, if you ultimately want to become a doctor. It’s one of the hardest programs to get in (definitely harder than Harvard or Stanford), and in terms of medical placement rate… I’m pretty sure it HAS to be 100% (Duh! It’s a guaranteed program). And in terms of educational quality, you won’t regret going to Northwestern anyways. It may not match Harvard/Stanford in terms of prestige, but who cares?

HPME, nothing is better than guarantee acceptance into medical school. Do you want all the stress of he possibility of not getting into a med school?

This one is too easy. Go to Northwestern for HPME.
