Stanford vs. Northwestern

I think I have a very good shot getting into NU early, but may not want to do binding ED. Stanford is a reach for everyone, as it is for me. If I apply to Stanford early (non-binding SCEA) instead of Northwestern (binding ED) do you think my chances of being admitted to Northwestern would go down. I've heard it's easier to get into NU early (while Stanford gives no preference) and I wouldn't want to not get into Northwestern because I didn't apply early and applied regular instead. I just don't like the idea of being bound to NU when I like it, but am not in love with it. Thoughts?
I appreciate your help, this is really stressing me out!
Thanks :)

If you don’t love it, don’t apply early. You’ll be thinking “what if?” for a long time if you get in. At the same time, Northwestern is a great school so I’m sure you would enjoy attending even if you don’t “love” it at first sight.

Thank you. Anyone else?

Both schools are great, but do what you really want to do. If you want to have a chance at Stanford, then go for it and apply early. And if you really believe you can easily get into NU, then you will be able to make a choice later on after RD, yes?
Soo from what you are saying, go for Stanford SCEA.
