@IggyAzalea lol nice ■■■■■ but you lost credibly when you said “second cousin twice removed”. Yes sure

If you are trolling, at least be mildly interesting.

And thanks! You are just what a bunch of frustrated, restless and waitlisted people needed to blow steam

Do people have nothing better to do than ■■■■■ on an academic-ish forum LOL

<a href=“Stanford undergraduate yield rate rises to 78.9 percent”>http://www.stanforddaily.com/2014/05/20/stanford-undergraduate-yield-rate-rises-to-78-9-percent/

how many people do u think, if any, will they admit off the wait list?

yes but this figure does not include people who have deferred enrolment and people going to other wait lists etc

development cases? @IggyAzalea

also don’t forget summer melt

They have released the yield.

<a href=“Stanford undergraduate yield rate rises to 78.9 percent”>http://www.stanforddaily.com/2014/05/20/stanford-undergraduate-yield-rate-rises-to-78-9-percent/

Yes we know that

This is a tough call. Max they would take 10-20 kids. But very tough call. Some years they used the wait list when the actual number of enrollment was higher than 1687 (this year). However last year with 1677 kids they didn’t, but that was the account for the over enrollment the previous year. Makes no sense. One year they even admitted 127 wait list applicants with 1697. Idk

The waitlist process is obviously much less transparent and unpredictable than RD^^

It looks like Stanford will not use the waitlist based on the yield number.

1690 students are enrolling!!! (78.9% yield). The Admission Office did a good job of predicting the yield. However, if they don’t utilize the waitlist for like 3 years, the point of the list will be meaningless . Even Harvard with more than 80% yield used their waitlist; I hope Stanford would take 10-15!

We are most likely going to get an update later today. Thats what they did last year. On may 14th the yield came out and later that day the students on the waitlist were released.
I agree @tsangster9 - whats the point of having a waitlist if they aren’t ever going to use it?

In last years statement and the year before they didnt have add this to the statement: “These numbers are still preliminary, and are subject to change until the final class statistics are presented in September, according to Colleen Lim M.A. ’80, associate director of undergraduate admission.”

I think the fact that they haven’t used the waitlist could actually be to our advantage. They are in more need to.

Tbh I don’t think they are obliged to use the waitlist
So we can’t expect to make use of it this year
It’s upto them

You will all find out later today…unfortunately, they will most likely release all…
