Stanford- Write a letter to your roommate?

Prompt: Virtually all of Stanford’s undergraduates live on campus. Write a note to your future roommate that reveals something about you or that will help your roommate—and us—know you better.

I'd like write about how I really really like to hum. It's going to be more of a creative essay. But what can it reveal about me? I have one thing: it can calm my nerves, especially with the stress in college.

Is there anything else that can reveal or show something about me/ my personality through my quirk of humming? Thanks.

do you perhaps like movies? you can write about how you like adding a bit of background music to your own life

or even just expand on what exactly you like to hum - perhaps it’s a pop song/classical/something you made up. I think you can go into how you diverse your interests are and how you welcome variety etc etc. and then you can launch into an anecdote or something

hope that helps a bit

Is there anything else that can be revealed about your personality through humming? I’m sure there are plenty, but don’t you know the answer to your own question better than a stranger on the internet would guess? But I think talking about humming is a great idea. Seems like you have a sense of humor, so if I were you I’d try to let in shine through - nothing too forced, but just to make use of your own quirkiness, you quirky hummer, you.

totally forgot about this thread. i didn’t look at the advice, but it’s exactly what you guys said. don’t worry i think its better now. thanks anyway.
