Stanford, Yale, Princeton - Please chance! I'll chance back.

I get pretty intimidated when I read the credentials of some of other applicants to Ivy League schools. I was wondering if I would have a chance. I think my strongest trait is my ACT score, which I know isn't the most important...

SAT:
Composite - 2090 (2100 superscored)
Critical Reading - 640
Math - 760 (770 first try)
Writing - 690

ACT:
Composite - 36
English - 35
Math - 36
Reading - 35
Science - 36

SAT Subject Tests:
Chemistry - Taking in November. Probably ~750.
Math 2 - Taking in November. Also probably ~750.

AP Scores: (I haven't taken as many AP tests because of the IB program, where many classes take two years).
World History - 5
Statistics - 5
BC Calculus - taking in May, expect a 4/5.
AP Chem - taking in May, expect a 4/5.

IB Scores:
SL Psychology: 6
Math Studies: 7
SL Spanish: taking in May, expect a 5/6.
HL HOA: taking in May, expect a 4/5 (weak class at my school).
HL English: taking in May, expect a 5/6.
HL Chem: taking in May, expect a 5/6.
Total: 30-35 points -- I know this is a wide range, but I at least expect to get over the 30 point mark.

Class Rank: 4/479
GPA: 5.39 on 6 point scale (our GPA system is complicated. An AP class is worth 6 points, a regular class is worth 5. A 99 in an AP class is a 5.9, 98 is 5.8, and so on).

EC:
President/Co-Founder of Mu Alpha Theta chapter
Co-Founder of an anti-bullying club (that started at our school and is now district wide)
Key Club Treasurer
Volunteer at elementary school once a week in a kindergarten class
National Honor Society
Spanish National Honor Society

Essays:
I'm not a creative writer or anything, but my essays are/will probably be a little above average. 7/10.

You’re obviously a very strong applicant and getting a 36 on the ACT is a rather uncommon occurance. Although top-tier schools are “unpredictable”, and you certainly have a realistic shot at one or all three, I think your ECs may be a little too ordinary. I hope you also have some other top-ranked schools on your list, that you would be excited attending, such as: Duke, Northwestern, UPenn, Rice, Tufts, WashUStL, etc.

Good luck!

Do NOT send your SAT scores.

Hm, I already sent my SAT scores. But thank you very much both of you! Anyone else?

I really think you have a shot at at LEAST one of them, if not all. Like others said, these schools can be unpredictable, but I think you could do it. Also, look into some other schools too. Just to have a fallback plan. Good luck though! Chance me back?

Send your ACT and I’m sure you’ll get into at least one of these schools! My bet is Princeton! Good luck :)

Your ACT is amazing~ definitely dont send your SAT score. but im not as optimistic as repliers above, it seems your EC is not very special for competitive schools like stanford or yale. Academically you will be fine, maybe your EC will hurt you.
and not offend, whats whats ur race? cuz it may make a great difference.

and can u chance me back? appreciated

I guess it was a mistake to send my SAT scores, haha. I’m pretty much 100% white and from a pretty wealthy family. i know that kind of puts me at a disadvantage.

bump - anyone else please?
