*still a Junior, my probably grade this semester

Passions include charity, my father started a local non-profit organization that is governmentally recognized.

Should I ED? Does my URM status help?

Poor grades a result of carelessness. Recommendations from teachers who saw me to from B to A in class.

Essays = Superb

Thanks guys

Being a URM will help, but it is extremely unlikely with those grades. Have you spoken to coaches about possibly being recruited for a sport?

Stanford’s a reach for anyone. The glaring thing is sophmore year. What happened? Also Stanford will likely get a couple thousand applications from very well qualified black students like yourself. Point is - I’m not sure if the URM is that big a deal since the demand is so great. GL.

Not a recruit ~ don’t want to play at next level

Sophomore year was a wreck but Stanford doesn’t look @ Freshman grades so it’s an upward trend

could I get into Cornell

Any ivy is a major reach with those grades, so probably not. You have to understand that most applicants to ivies have perfect or near perfect grades for all of high school (>3.8) and you did not achieve those grades for a single semester.

I am in my last and will as a Senior. Plus my SAT is better than most and I’m a URM.

Just sayin

You asked for people’s thoughts on your chances, I simply gave you mine. You have to remember that most people applying to ivies have good scores and the high score/low GPA combination implies laziness which is something schools don’t want in their students.
