Stanford

I am a freshman and I have gotten a C in AP World History 2nd semester. Is it still possible for me to get into Stanford if I do really well in 10th and 11th grade. Also, I’ve heard that Stanford forgives freshman year if there is a trend.

I also have strong extracurriculars.

First of all, did you ever see if Stanford even accepts credit for AP world history if you did take the exam too. But the class itself shouldn’t really be going towards your admission chances to Stanford since your also a freshman and just because Stanford is close to an ivy league college representation, its most likely not going to contribute to that one C(if it was your fist C)

What behavior led to the C? If you continue that behavior then no matter what your EC’s are you will not get admitted to Stanford or any elite university.

On 6/3 you posted that you are Junior in high school. And on 4/4/16 you stated that you are a senior in HS. Why are you making up the posts??

From the Stanford website:
We will focus our evaluation on your coursework and performance in 10th, 11th and 12th grades, primarily in the core academic subjects of English, mathematics, science, foreign language and history/social studies. We want to see that you have challenged yourself by taking accelerated, honors, Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate courses if they are offered at your school.

Getting a C Freshman year will not ruin your chances but as @TomSrOfBoston stated above, figure out why you got the C and how to improve. Yes, you have a chance if you do well 10-12th grade but just remember, that Stanford is a Reach for everyone even those with perfect GPA’s and SAT/ACT scores. At the end of Junior year, evaluate your college list and make sure your stats match the schools on your list.
