Is it worth it to apply to Stanford, that doesn't calculate freshman grades, if your freshman grades were your best grades, and it went downhill from there.

I know that a downward trend is bad, but if they take out my freshman grades...it would look even worse.

if it looks bad either way from what you're saying, really depends on whether or not you want to go there

Colleges such as Stanford will understand that courses generally become more difficult as years go by. Therefore your chances wouldn't die just because of a slight downward trend. But then again, it depends on your course rigor, GPA, and how much of a downward trend.

I've tried taking all the APs I could, but my school doesn't offer them some years because not enough ppl sign up, or course schedule conflicts (which happened to me every year).

I will have taken 9-10 AP (9-10 tests, I didn't take one for Comp Sci sophomore year, I took US Hist junior year because we didn't have an honors class or AP) classes by graduation.

I've gotten a C in Stats (3), and a B in like all my AP classes: Comp Sci, Physics (1 ... ouch), English A (3...yikes).

I had C in CS and Spanish 3.

I also had B in Pre-calculus.

I'm still applying.

It hurts. I know.

You still have to give it your best shot.

^^I'm sorry, you won't get in

you dont have to be so condescending RSABach.

Ooh, the expert of college admissions who obviously knows everything about selective universities says you won't get in. Your chances are 0 now.

Of course, now I'm just being condescending.

If anyone's interested in going (assuming the reach it would be isn't 'impossible'), I'd apply. You might regret it if yo don't. At least if you're rejected you can know you attempted. Failing to apply might give you the 'what if's.
