How does it compare to other colleges?
What is there to do in the town? (places to eat, fun stuff, ect.)
Do most people bring a car after their first year?
Is California fun?
What are the students like?
Are the classes taught by mostly profs or TAs? (especially in engineering)
What do you all love about the school? :) Thanks!

In what fields do you want a comparison? If you're talking engineering, then I'd assume Stanford is one of the best in the nation/world.

There are good restaurants, some on the pricey side. There is a shopping mall, on the uber-pricey side, with the likes of Neiman-Marcus, etc. There are about 3 Persian rug stores--presumably, on the pricey side. As you can see, I do not have a high opinion of Palo Alto (no pun intended). Your mileage may vary, of course.

Dunno...but they're dead useful.

California is hecka fun! Especially the Bay Area at large, which is one reason owning a car comes in handy.

Thanks garou!! Anyone else?
