In one of my essays for Stanford, I need to include a place that Stanford students would go on weekends. However, I've never been to Stanford so I don't know anything about the geography there.

Do you know a park or a big street that wouldn't be harmed by gathering of a lot of people? The place should be no more than 30mins apart from the campus. If there is no such a place, you could tell me an outdoor on-campus site where students can walk around and relax...

I need a specific and correct name, so I hope somebody who attends Stanford, or knows well about its geography tell me sth.
Thank you!!!

There isn't really a place students would go off campus... unless maybe they'd go to the beach at Half Moon Bay? But that might be a bit more than 30 min away, although not too far... On campus there's the oval, this big grassy area where students will sunbathe, study, play volleyball, etc.

If neither of those will work let me know and I'll try to think of something else.

The Oval sounds like your best bet...it's on campus, but between the main quad/dorms and the city of Palo Alto. Google it if you want to know what it looks like.

I suppose you could mention something about Palo Alto if you were really looking for an off-campus place...

gathering? there's a small mountain nearby where ppl hike... pm me if u still need help. i live in the city right next to it :p
