Rutgers University New Student Orientation - Fall Orientation

August 29th.

What is the difference between what noumena posted, and this:

So there is two star days? Does it matter which one I sign up for? I need to register for classes

According to chocholoc it says aug 26th or aug 8 not aug 29th. Choc are you sure those are the dates?

I guess both dates are good but when I initially signed up, I got an email directing me to the site that choc put up. I would sign up for that site. I think the aug 29th is just an orientation and not where you register for courses.

You can't sign up for the aug 29th. There is no link. Anybody have the same problem?

Also sorry about the posts but can you still sign up for the august star day?

Site that I posted in post #3 is what was sent in an email. That seems to be when you register for classes etc. But it is confusing.

Do you guys have housing? Or looking for off-campus housing? There are tons available close to College Ave. rather than be stuck in a hotel room and then moved when something random becomes available

Sorry, your link is the right one, chocoholic. I myself was a transfer student at Rutgers a year ago, and the difference between the STAR event and New Student Orientation (NSO) is that while the former is required, the latter isn't. In fact, being the recluse that I am, I opted out of the festivities. Actually, I did attend one activity, and it turned out to be pretty good.

In regards to post #9, I was in the same situation when I went to attend that STAR event, being that I am an out-of-state student; so with no family or relative with which to stay after the event, I pretty much had to drive 6 hours to and from it. For convenience, staying in a motel or hotel until you actually move in on the specified dates wouldn't be a bad idea.

Here is a link to sign up for Transfer student orientation:
