Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Just got back from the midnight showing. It's 3 am and in 4 hours I have school, but it was worth it. Too crazy...

So has anyone seen it yet?

Yes! I skipped school today to catch the 1 PM showing (we were so close to getting the midnight tickets, but they'd run out)...heh heh. So amazing that film was.

I caught the midnight showing. Sweet movie. Luckily I had periods 1 and 3 free. I slept through period 2... (but it was ap bio and we have already taken the AP anyway so I dont really care too much about showing up)

just saw it (saw the 5pm showing). it was AMAZING. MUCH better than 1 and 2.
Very good transition from 2 to 4, and...yeah. Go see it!

I loved the film. The only flaw was how Lucas expressed the transition between how anakin went from a jedi to a sith. There was no TRUE defining moment. It sort of just happened. Other than that, I thoroughly enjoyed the politics in this episode, the maturity, the plot, the settings and technology, and the theme. It was really hard for me to watch.

Here is my idea: Lucas is a great visionary, but he cannot write. So what if Shakespeare wrote the screenplay for him and all of the films were as they are but in the Shakespearean language? Am I the only one who thinks this would be awesome?

Haha. I agree with the fact that Lucas cannot write. Especially with the love dialogue, they are way to chessy and corny. (I think it has something to do with the lack of a wife on Lucas's behalf) Anyways, I thought the transition was pretty well done. There shouldn't have been a "defining moment" because each choice he made added more and more to his impending doom. Yes, nitpickers will argue about the negligible stuff such as his "NO!" but overall the movie was way better than episode II. I will have to see this one about 7-10 more times before deciding which one is the best of the six. Hehe.
Also, even though I am the biggest Natalie fan in the world, I don't think she really belonged in the movie. She had some sappy lines, or maybe is was lucas's writing, and it just didn't really fit. She was pretty hot tho...
The story and action made up for everything. Lightsaber fights were just...wow. Obi Wan is the man.

I can't wait for the DVD, because there were a lot of scenes cut of out this one. I heard that Qui Gon ACTUALLY comes back, instead of (Spoiler) Yoda telling Obi Wan to go talk to him on Tatooine.

As the weekend rolls around I am pretty sure more people will have seen it. POST POST POST.

Correction: Yoda is the man. It was hilarious when he climbed chewy's arm after the attempted assassination. He also fights nasty with all those flips and all... if I were him the only thing I would fear is slicing those ears when he's flipping the saber!

What I liked about the movie was the irony. Annakin went to the Dark side to save Padme but it was because of him she ended up dying in the end. "Evil has creates no good"

Well his transition to the dark side was okay at first: it's pausible that he joined the sith lord to protect padame. But what was overwhelming was when he went from that to becoming crazy and becoming hungry for power.

I liked Padme. She was just a pregnant woman...

I effing love Hayden Christensen, but only because he's so lovely. I think his acting skills have upped, but the lines were very corny.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!" Ahahaha.

I actually laughed during at the birth beginning scene because it was just so... awkward. Comical, almost. But then I started to think about what was going on (and not how it was going on), and it's so tragic.

I saw it last night (ended at midnight, so I could say I saw it on the day it opened).

It may seem that Anakin tried to do well by choosing Sith in order to save Padme, however....it was a selfish choice. One must live with the changes in the universe as the Jedi said. By alligning with Palpatine Anakin is trying to undo human nature and secure his wife for himself--selfishness, the characteristic of a Sith. A Jedi would have let nature take its course. So, as it does seem that Anakin was trying to do the best for his future family, he was acting selfishly which is against the doctrine of the Jedi. I sympathize with him...he is "the chosen one" and has to undergo such horrible ordeals and choices. It was his destiny to be a Sith. Can you alter your destiny?

From the book:

You killed her because, finally, when you could have saved her, when you could have gone away with her, when you could have been thinking about her, you were thinking about yourself.

It is in this blazing moment that you finally understand the trap of the dark side, the final cruelty of the Sith -

Because now your self is all you will ever have

"YOU WERE THE CHOSEN ONE!!!"

Saw the midnight showing :-D, well, 12:01 technically. It was amazing, a billion times better than episodes I and II. Natalie was so hot! Hayden still can't act sappy or in love very well but he does seduced Anakin very well, really showing his dark side.

i also saw the midnight showing, and had like 2 hrs of sleep. my other friends were gonna go home and watch Episode 4,5 and 6, but i was like nooo wayyy i have school the next day! but i do plan on watching 4 5 and 6 soon.

i think my favorite scene in the movie is when obi is fighting general grievous. that was amazing!!! four light sabers against one! that fight should have been longer

"After starting the day with $16,912,367 from midnight shows alone, Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith closed Thursday with $50,013,859 from an estimated 9,400 screens at 3,661 theaters. That's the biggest day ever for a single movie in history. "

My estimate is 120Million after Sunday.

I saw it last night (I even donned Princess Leia buns). It was incredible! Easily one of the best of the series. Hayden Christ...whatever is GORGEOUS and I love Natalie Portman. I thought it was dark and creepy and really really good in general. Not the best dialogue writing, but all in all an awesome movie!

They definately should have done something about the "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" though like people have been saying;)

Yeah that part was really dumb. And I had reallly annoying people in the theatre with me who laughed at serious parts and were just really inappropriate and rude and loud. Usually, this would have ruined the movie for me, but this one was just so good.

Did people start clapping at the beginning when the big letgters spelling "George Lucas" appeared?

I thought the scariest part was the resemblance between the government of the movie and our current US administration...
