So whats the etiquette for a Starbucks interview? Do I dress up? And when I get there do I buy something to drink if I am first to arrive there? What if the interviewer is there first? Should I meet him, say hello, and then excuse myself to grab something to drink (which I really won't drink anyways) or do I just jump into the interview? Grr..I'm stressing over my (virtually non-existent) 6% chance of getting in lol.

Dress nicely, but not too formally. Jeans are okay unless they specifically requested that you wear something different. If you get there first, grab a drink and catch a seat and wait. If they got there before you, say hi to them and they’ll probably tell you they’re in no hurry and to take your time getting a drink. Then sit with them and talk for however long your interview lasts. Just remember it’s not a big deal and if something unexpected happens, just go with the flow and it’ll work out.

^I agree on all counts

For all my college interviews, I have worn a white dress shirt, black slacks, and a zippered sweatshirt. Try to arrive a couple minutes early, and most importantly, relax and be yourself. Good luck!

i hope you washed

Don’t have to be too formal for a Starbucks interview. Don’t be a slob; a nice button-up shirt, a pair of nice jeans or slacks, and decent shoes would be fine. You can be overdressed. As for drinks etiquette, I usually (as an interviewer) like to show up earlier if possible and I usually offer to buy a drink for the interviewee. But this is not necessarily standard. If you’re there early, you can of course buy yourself a drink while you’re waiting.

I offer to buy drinks for my interviewees - doesn’t matter to me if they accept or not (unless they’re a recruited athlete, in which case the NCAA says they aren’t allowed to accept).

you guys are such nice interviewers :)

A crazy tip that probably won’t apply to you, but my daughter had an interview for Middlebury at a Starbucks in a mall nearby. She telephoned us about 20 min. past the time the interview was to have started to say the interviewer had not arrived. She discovered shortly after that there were TWO Starbucks in that mall. A call to a friend who had had the same interview the previous week straightened things out but it was a really bad way to start and interview and my D thought it was her worst interview, also due to the fact that the interviewer was humanities oriented and my D is a math/sci kid. She was accepted as an early-write , however, so who knows how much stock one should place in the interview anyway.
