Start preparing now?

I was wondering if you think its to early for me. ( a sophmore ) To start preparing for the SAT'S. Im most likely going to use Xiggie's method.

As you can see the math and the english are going to be the hardest for me. I suck at writing just about everything.

why not? I've been preparing for a while and I'm the same grade as you. Take the psat this year as a test run to see how you do also.

Oh okay thanks, because I really want to get into a good university.

Any tips like where can I get a couple of free online PSAT before I actually take the real one?

Just study for the PSAT using SAT materials.

Why not? I started freshman year and did pretty well.
Blue book blue book blue book blue book bumpbumpbump.

Haha where can I find this "blue book?"

Almost any bookstore or online.

it's the college board official sat guide. all you really should do this year is take the psat. anything is optional, could possibly be helpful, but also could stress you out too early.

Its never too young to start. My dad bought me an SAT preparation book in 6th grade. I have it right here with me, see? Kaplan. Good times. :)

the earlier the better. I waited till 1 month before the test when I first took it....bad choice!!

the stories varied. i din't prep for my first sat (took the psat that year and thats it) last year, and did fine. I did take it again, but I didn't prep for that one either.

I disagree Chaos. Having an SAT book when you're in 6th grade? What is wrong with you? Standardized test scores should not be the epitome of your existence. In 6th grade, you should be developing social skills and study habits, not learning a plethora of SAT vocab words or memorizing math rules. Get over yourself.

And Tymel. I suggest you start studying in the spring of this year or towards the summer. Otherwise, it's just going to go in one ear and out the other if you start now, take a few months off, and then begin again. Especially since you are only a sophomore and have not taken a "real" test yet.

oh getting an sat book in 6th grade's not all that bad . . .

If you have nothing to do in 6th grade besides worry about the SATs, then you have some serious issues (or lack of life).

Perhaps I have no life; perhaps my life is the SAT. For me, the 6th grade was the perfect time to start. Even studying for 6 hours a day gives you time to do other things. The 'life' thing is much overused, because I definitely had a life. There were no issues; I was a happy young boy, and my parents were happy as well. I had several friends, many of which I still have today. What I said was merely my perspective on the matter. Forgive me if I sound defensive.

six.. hours... a ... day?. wow.

^ I completely agree.I can't get through 3 without pulling my hair and breaking something. but 6 is just not possible...unless chaos is a robot.
