Start your own League

If you can have your own league of schools that you feel are elite what schools would they be and what would you name the league?.......schools should be limited to 7. Interested in seeing your league.....

wait we should limit it to 8 schools because that’s the amount in the real ivy league…

But 7 is a cooler number. Its lucky and all =P

Well-rounded league (strong academics, big-time sports, good party scene):

UVA
Duke
UNC
Vanderbilt
Stanford
UCLA
Northwestern

The Central Ivy League?

schools that are further west from the eastern seaboard than the ivies, but not neccesarily all in the same geographic area.

Rice
Vanderbilt
U Chicago
Northwestern University
University of Notre Dame
Wash U

The southern seven (univerisites):
Duke
Emory
Vanderbilt
WUSTL
Rice
Caltech
UCLA
*listed in east to west geographic order

only problem is I don’t think Missouri is the south.

The Dark Seven…known for their sinister workloads

MIT
Carnegie Mellon
Chicago
Columbia
Berkeley
Caltech
Cornell
JHU

harvard, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, UPenn, caltech, I’m gonna throw up if I add this, but Yale (yuck)

College of William and Mary (not for football, since they’re 1-AA)

Duke University

Emory University (replace with Baylor since it’s D3 now)

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Rice University

Southern Methodist University

Tulane University

Wake Forest University

Vanderbilt University

University of Virginia

Team Extreme

 1. MIT
 2. Cal Tech
 3. Georgia Tech
 4. WPI
 5. RPI
 6. Va. Tech

Techies:

MIT

Intellectual Hipsters League

UChicago
Swarthmore
Reed

Vassar

I know its not as large as the Ivy League or the Seven Sisters, but thats all I can think of right now off the top of my head. :)

Politico League

Georgetown
UC Berkeley
Columbia
Yale
Duke
Brown
Wellesley

I like this one.

The league of the really awkwardly named
Kalamazoo College
College of Wooster
Bowdoin College ( no offense- is a good college)
Goucher College
Oral Roberts University
Gonzaga university
University of albinos ( ha, just a joke)

Can’t think of more

I wasn’t aware that that California was in the south either =
Unless you mean strictly geographically, of course.

I guess my league would be

ASU
Florida
Wisconsin
Texas
Penn State
WVU
UGA (not sure if this is the 7th best party school, but only one I could think of)

How can you put Northwestern and not Michigan? Northwestern is great academically, but the sports aren’t too hot. Football is getting better, but historically horrible compared to the rest of the Big 10. It is also the only BCS school without a birth in the NCAA basketball tournament. Its best sport is girls lax. Michigan has very similar academics and much stronger athletics.

Coming and Going League

University of Hawaii (Southwest)
University of Alaska (Northwest)
University of Kansas (Central)
University of Florida (Southeast)
University of Maine (Northeast)

Bob Jones University (Furthest out there)

University of Chicago (Life of the Mind - Closest inside?)
