It’s my senior year and I really want to start a S.A.D.D chapter at my school. I wish i would have started one earlier but i was honestly so busy with other clubs and my courseload. My grandfather and my mom’s grandfather were both killed my drunk drivers and alcoholism effects my family personally so i’m really not starting it just for colleges it’s something i want to do. will colleges think i’m just doing this to “pad” my application?
If you want to do it, then do it. If you don’t want to include the club in your college application then you don’t have to.
if i did, how would I include it since I’m in the process?
I probably just wouldn’t list it if you are just in the initial phase of starting it up in Oct. of your senior year. Others may have different opinions.
I agree with @happy1. If you are just starting it now, it really isn’t an accomplishment and so has no place on an application. Do it because you really want to, or don’t. But a theoretical anything has no place on any kind of resume.
A great test of true character — to act selflessly w/o any recognition besides the completed project. Good luck!
Your main job will be to get some underclassmen who can lead the program after you leave. Indeed you should organize the club so that the President should only be a Junior – that would be critical in sustainment and getting fresh blood into the leadership/driving roles.
