of course it is possible! just work hard and you'll be fine. The essays take the longest, but you could even do the while you are traveling. I wrote by best one in the fijian jungle!

It will be impossible if you continue to procrastinate. Preparing the app is not that difficult. Preparing required essays is, so those you need to get going on quickly. Also, if you need recommendation letters, you must ask for them NOW. Why? Just read your own post. Teachers will be gone on break also. Moreover, they tend to procastinate and preparing your essay is not on their list of high priorities. Have you taken all necessary admissions tests? If not you better find out quickly if you can find space for a December test date. Don't forget that you will have to order a transcript and may have to get some counselors form signed and sent and thus you need to get going on the apps because (again read your own post) all the people at the high school including the counselor will be gone during that break and won't be there to send what you need sent during that time. In other words, start now because you don't have until Jan 1 to get everything done, you actually only have until Dec 15.

I just want to echo drusba. I think that you can finish, but it is important to be considerate to the teachers who will be doing you a favor by writing. If you haven't asked them, ask this week. Also, some schools really take forever to send out transcripts. And if something on it, God forbid, is wrong, you need time to have that corrected.

Get a binder. Download and print out the common app and start filling it out so that you have all of those codes, phone numbers, names, ssn, info right there. If you haven't started on your essays, you should start working on it. Once you do that, it'll be quite easy. You should have your references lined up and know your school's time lines so that you can abide by them. Also get your test scores sent out. Once you have given the forms, stamped envelopes to your GC and teachers, and had the SAT scores sent, you are on your way to just getting your end done.

Definitely start now. the first thing you have to do is get your secondary school report and techer recommendation information ready. Those are a must right now. Next, I suggest looking at all the school's essay prompts and grouping them into different categories so you could possibly reuse some essays by tweaking them here and there. Draft your essays and have others read them over. The last step would probably be to do all the application filling. That way you already have everything else ready and can just fill stuff in. :) Good luck!

Wow, just starting? You need to hurry up then. Most deadlines are December or January and it takes forever to finish all the paperwork. Well, mostly it's the essay that slows you down. Some applications require more than one essay. The CommonApp asks for two, but each suppliment can ask from one to five little short asnwers. Some even ask for full 500 word essays. Don't let those deadlines get the best of you and good luck. Start now!
