good idea? bad idea? anything specific you miss out on by doing so?

I'm going to book mark this thread because I really want to know the same thing. I want to enroll springtime, but I applied to 5 schools for the fall. Will I have to re-apply again if I get accepted for the fall? I really hope not because there isn't really a point to apply to a school if you were accepted the first time.

some schools will allow u to enter in spring if u get admitted for fall...just check with the school

Its called deferring admission, and i may do that depending on a few circumstances, i was just wondering if i was missing out on something by doing so.

Will most schools allow you to do this? The private schools in particular? Also, if you want them to know you are deferring your admission till the spring, do you have to call them and let them know? Do college websites have instructions for this?

Also check on any scholarship rules. My daughter's main scholarship required her to start school the fall after graduating high school.
