So for the ILR school, it is possible to earn transferable credits (as long as it is not more than 12 credits) from a compatible community college right? I graduated HS, never attended CC before, but after all this hectic college application material/tests , I will start going to a local CC to take a few courses.

However I contacted the school before and they said that they recommend me to take Stat. after I go to ILR (assuming I make it).

Have any students had experience with this? (I'm also assuming that for those that took AP Stat., Stat was no longer required of them in Cornell ILR)

Can I get my Macro/Micro, Stat, and a few other general courses done at a local CC, so that when I go to Cornell, I will have more electives and time to spend elsewhere?

Make absolutely sure that Cornell will accept those CC credits before you take classes. I wanted to take intro chemistry courses over the summer at a CC that has an articulation agreement with Cornell, and Cornell would not accept those credits as major requirements – they’d take them as elective credits only. I ended up taking the same courses at a local private university instead, and that was AFTER providing Cornell with the courses’ syllabus, instructor names (for course and lab), and textbook name for approval. I’m not a chemistry major, but my academic department made me get approval from Cornell’s Chemistry department before I could register for the other school’s classes. So, just make sure you have all your bases covered and everything approved in writing before you take classes somewhere else.

Find out if Cornell accepts the CC’s course(s)

Make sure there is proof that Cornell will accept the course from the CC by requesting an official from Cornell to write me something?

Take course if accepted.
