Starting at NJIT soon but...

hello, I am a undergrad that is about to start at NJIT in the fall majoring in computer science but I have decided that I want to major in computer science and pre-med and here lies the problem, NJIT does not offer a pre med program. I was thinking that if I get straight A's in my courses do you think I could transfer to some colleges im looking at such as university of delaware or rutgers. should I consider transfering or is NJIT good enough. I know I will recieve an execeptional computer science education but I also wish to recieve an execptional background in the science courses required for med schools and the MCAT. also do you guys consider computer science a very diverse major in regards to med school admission? As we all know one thing they like to see is diverse majors.

PS also a bit off topic but do schools that i want to transfer to like rutgers and university of delaware care about things like clubs and if i was on student senate or do they just look at grades and if transfering after one year do they still look at high school transcripts and sats?

comon dosent anyone have a reply?

While NJIT does not have a premed program, I'm am sure you will be able to take all the required courses including orgo, a writing/humanities course, bio, physics etc.

just take the required courses for admission to med school

you can always major in com sci and just take these required courses and you do realize that med school is open to all majors right?

but would taking computer science as opossed to another major like engineering hurt my chances of getting into med school and would attending njit hurt my chances instead of another college like delaware or rutgers?

no, from what i know, they go by your gpa AND the prereqs gpa + MCAT

major would not matter at ALL
