<p>I know this may seem like THE most rediculous reason to compare to colleges...but it's come down to Tulane and Miami. And honestly, I am comparing breaks to make the decision (and all other dates.) This is how desperate I am lol.</p>
<p>Here's all I am interested in:</p>
<p>When do classes start/freshmen orientation?
When do you get off for Thanksgiving, Christmas Break, and Spring Break? (and length.)
When do classes end for the year.
When do you register for classes and how many credits per semester is normal?</p>
<p>This is what I know 2007-2008
August 16 -residence halls open for new students
August 17- orientation Begins for new students and parents
August 22- Fall Semester Begins
Sept 28-29- Family weekend
Nov 22-25 - Thanksgiving Recess
Dec 5-12- Final Exams for Fall
Dec 13-Jan 13 -Winter Break
Jan 14 Spring Semester Begins
March 8-16 Spring Break
April 25 Last Day of Spring Classes
April 30-May8 Final Exams
May 9 Summer Break Begins</p>
<p>15 credit hours are "normal" for freshman...... 14 credit hours is the fewest that my friends are currently taking, and 19 credit hours is the most (this is all just people I know personally, so other people's experiences may differ)</p>
<p>In the college of arts and sciences, the max number of credits a new freshman can take is 17. I'm not sure if this is the same for the other schools.</p>

** Thursday, August 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Last name begins with "G" through "O"
** Friday, August 17th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Last name begins with "P" through "Z"</p>
